Privacy Policy
Alive — alivescore.app
Effective: July 15, 2026 Last updated: July 15, 2026
The short version
This page collects one thing: your email address, and only if you type it into the waitlist form yourself.
The Alive Score quiz runs entirely inside your browser. Your answers never reach us — we don't see them, store them, or receive them in any form.
We don't use cookies. We don't run analytics. We don't track you across the internet. We don't sell anything to anyone, and we never will.
When Alive launches, we'll email you. You can leave the list at any time, in one click.
That's the whole policy. The rest of this page is the same thing said carefully, because you deserve the details and the law requires them.
1. Who we are
This site is operated by Tarun Vaka ("Alive," "we," "us"), based in India.
For the purposes of the GDPR and similar laws, we are the data controller for the information described here — meaning we decide what is collected and why.
You can reach us at any time: support@alivescore.app
2. What we collect
We've split this into three parts: what you give us, what happens automatically, and what we deliberately don't touch.
2.1 Your email address — the only thing you give us
If you join the waitlist, we collect your email address. Nothing else. No name, no phone number, no age, no gender, no company, no "how do you train?" — just the address you type in.
We also record the date and time you joined, so we know your position on the list. If you're one of the first 100, that timestamp is what earns your founding-member place.
Providing your email is entirely voluntary. If you don't want to join the list, don't fill in the form — the rest of the site works exactly the same.
2.2 Technical and security data — collected automatically
Like every website on the internet, this one runs on servers, and those servers keep logs. When your browser requests a page, our hosting and security providers automatically process:
- your IP address
- your browser type and version
- the date and time of the request
- the page requested
This is standard, unavoidable, and necessary — it's how the site is delivered to you and how it's protected from attacks, bots, and abuse. These logs are held briefly by our infrastructure providers, are not used to build a profile of you, are not linked to your email address, and are never used for advertising.
We tell you this because it's true, not because we want it. Most privacy policies quietly omit it.
2.3 The quiz — what we deliberately do NOT collect
The "What's your Alive Score?" quiz on this page is entirely client-side. Everything happens in your browser, on your device:
- Your answers about sleep, training, protein, water, and steps are never transmitted to us.
- Your resulting score is calculated on your device and never sent anywhere.
- Nothing from the quiz is stored, logged, or associated with your email — even if you join the waitlist afterwards.
- Close the tab and it's gone.
We built it that way on purpose. It's a preview of how the actual app works.
3. Why we collect your email, and what gives us the right to
We use your email address for exactly two things:
- To tell you when Alive launches, and to confirm your founding-member status if you're one of the first 100.
- To send occasional progress updates while we build — roughly once every few weeks, and only if there's something real to say.
That's it. Your email is not used for anything else, and we don't send anything you didn't ask for.
Our legal basis (GDPR Article 6(1)(a)): your consent. You gave it by choosing to submit the form. You can withdraw it at any time, with no consequence, and withdrawing it is as easy as giving it — see Section 7.
For the technical data in Section 2.2, our legal basis is legitimate interest (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)) — specifically, keeping the site online, fast, and protected from attack. We think that's a fair balance; if you disagree, you can object (Section 7).
4. Cookies and tracking
This site sets no cookies.
No advertising cookies. No analytics cookies. No tracking pixels. No third-party scripts watching what you do. No fingerprinting. No session recording. No profiling.
We are not tracking you here, and we are not tracking you anywhere else. There's no cookie banner on this site because there's nothing to consent to.
5. Who else touches your data
We use a small number of third-party providers to run this site. Under the GDPR they're our processors — they handle data on our instructions and are contractually bound not to use it for their own purposes.
| Provider | What they handle | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase | Your email address and signup timestamp | Receives and stores the waitlist submissions |
| Cloudflare | Technical/security data (IP, request logs) | DNS, security, DDoS protection, delivering the site |
| Vercel | Technical/security data (server logs) | Hosting and serving the site |
| Resend | Your email address | Sending the launch announcement and updates |
We do not share your email with anyone else. Specifically and permanently:
- We do not sell your data. Not now, not later, not to anyone, at any price.
- We do not rent, trade, or license it.
- We do not share it with advertisers, data brokers, or partners.
- We do not run ads, so there is no advertising machine to feed.
The only other circumstance in which we would disclose anything is if we were legally compelled to — a valid court order or binding legal obligation. If that ever happened and we were permitted to tell you, we would.
6. How long we keep it
Your email: until Alive launches and you've been told, plus a reasonable period afterwards — or until you unsubscribe, whichever comes first. If Alive hasn't launched within 24 months of you joining, or if you never engage with anything we send, we'll delete your address. A waitlist that's gone stale isn't worth keeping.
Technical/security data: retained briefly by our infrastructure providers under their standard log-retention periods (typically days to a few weeks), then deleted automatically.
Quiz data: there is none. Nothing to retain.
When you unsubscribe or ask for deletion, your address is removed — not flagged, not hidden, not "suppressed." Removed.
7. Your rights
You have real rights over your data, and we will honour all of them regardless of where you live — not just where the law forces us to.
If you're in the EU/EEA or the UK, the GDPR gives you the right to:
- Access — ask what we hold about you (spoiler: your email and a timestamp)
- Rectification — correct it if it's wrong
- Erasure — have it deleted ("the right to be forgotten")
- Restriction — ask us to pause processing it
- Portability — receive it in a machine-readable format
- Object — object to processing based on legitimate interest
- Withdraw consent — at any time, without giving a reason and without any consequence
- Complain — to your local supervisory authority if you think we've handled this badly
If you're in California, the CCPA/CPRA gives you the right to:
- Know what personal information we collect and why
- Delete what we hold
- Correct inaccurate information
- Opt out of sale or sharing — though there is nothing to opt out of, because we don't sell or share it
- Non-discrimination — we will never treat you differently for exercising any of these rights
How to exercise any of them: email support@alivescore.app. Say what you want. We'll do it, and we'll confirm when it's done — normally within a few days, and always within 30 days. We won't charge you, we won't make you jump through hoops, and we won't ask you to justify yourself.
The fastest route for most people: every email we send has a one-click unsubscribe link. Clicking it removes you from the list entirely. You don't need to email us or read this policy to leave.
8. Security
Your email address is held by our form provider and protected by:
- Encryption in transit — the entire site is served over HTTPS. This is enforced at the registry level, because `.app` is an HSTS-preloaded domain: an insecure connection to alivescore.app is not technically possible.
- Encryption at rest by our providers.
- Access control — access is limited to the operator of Alive.
- Minimisation — the strongest security measure available is not collecting data in the first place. It's why the quiz is client-side and why the form has one field.
No system is perfectly secure, and anyone who tells you otherwise is selling something. But there is very little here to lose: an email address and a timestamp.
9. International data transfers
Our providers may process data outside your country, including in the United States. Where data leaves the EEA or the UK, our providers rely on appropriate safeguards — typically the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses — to give your data the protection the law requires.
10. Children
This site and the Alive waitlist are not directed at children, and are intended for people aged 16 and over (or the age of digital consent in your country, if it's higher).
We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under that age. If you believe a child has joined the waitlist, email support@alivescore.app and we'll delete the address immediately.
11. Changes to this policy
If we change how any of this works, we'll update this page and change the "Last updated" date at the top.
If a change is material — if we ever start collecting something new, or using your email for something beyond what's described here — we will email you first and ask, rather than quietly editing this page and hoping you don't notice. Silence will never be treated as consent.
12. What changes when the app launches
The Alive app is a separate product with its own, longer privacy policy, which will be published before launch and linked from the App Store.
The core commitment doesn't change: your health data stays on your phone. Your workouts, your food, your body, your score — that lives on your device, not on our servers.
You don't have to take that on faith today, and nothing in this policy covers the app. When it ships, read that policy on its own terms.
